Chromebooks Year 7, 2021
We have been informed by Hewlett Packard (HP) that due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, HP is experiencing difficulty getting stock of Chromebooks into the country due to a worldwide shortage. Global demand for the Chromebooks has outstripped supply.
The Chromebook is an important piece of equipment for today’s students, we have taken the step to go back out to the market to secure enough Chromebooks for our 2021 Year 7 students. We are currently negotiating with two companies and are aiming to place an order in the next couple of weeks. The intention is to secure the number of Chromebooks that we will need, to sell to families at cost price. The package will remain the same i.e. it includes the Chromebook, 3 year extended warranty and accidental damage protection insurance. Our goal is to get the price as close as possible to the current $650 price point. The advantages to families who purchase their Chromebook through us is the knowledge and confidence the Chromebook is compatible with our network and the peace of mind with regards to support in the event a problem occurs.
To help us get an idea of numbers we are asking families that want to purchase their Chromebook through the College to register their details via our Google form (see link below). This form will need to be completed by Wednesday 28/10/2020 to secure a Chromebook. Again we are aiming to have the Chromebooks delivered to the College by the end of Term 4.
